Rose Nemet is co-founder of Kareen Wine. A self-described "people geek," Rose thrives at the intersection of hospitality and community, blending her SWANA heritage with California wine culture to create affecting wine experiences.
Named after their ancestral homeland and launched in 2018, Kareen Wine crafts low-intervention wines from sustainably grown sites in Lodi, Clarksburg, and the Sierra Foothills. When she's not vision mapping indigenous Armenian varietals for their winery, Rose is bringing the conversation of ancient viticultural traditions into the California wine industry.

Kareen Wine’s mission is to educate consumers and the local wine community about the ancient wine world. As a company founded by refugees and first-generation immigrants to the United States, we are committed to uplifting workers’ rights and partnering with vendors that engage in equitable labor practices across the full wine production cycle. Kareen Wine uses low-intervention cellar practices, sourcing from sustainably grown vineyards to enable and support responsible land stewardship.
